About Miss Laurie

Miss Laurie is a Concord native and began dancing at the age of three at Peggé Lee School of Dance. She finished 15 years with PLSD/Cabarrus Dance Academy and went on to study at Meredith College, where she graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business. 

After college, Miss Laurie decided to pursue her love of dance as a teacher.  She is a graduate of Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School at the University of Buffalo in New York. She continues her education each summer through various national workshops and conventions. In addition to her dance training, Miss Laurie is certified to teach Zumba®, Zumba Kids®, Zumba Toning® and STRONG Nation®.

Miss Laurie has enjoyed teaching all genres of dance at CDA for over 20 years. In that time, she opened The Dance Shoppe inside CDA, as well as began our Hip Hop, Protégé and Zumba® Fitness Programs.
When Miss Laurie isn’t teaching she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters and four dogs!
