Dance Classes start September 6th!
Miss Katie grew up dancing in a studio from the age of three, and studied all styles of dance with an emphasis on ballet and pointe. Miss Katie was a member of the performing companies at her home studio, and was a member of her high school dance team for four years. While in high school, Miss Katie also studied both ballet and contemporary dance during Dance Festivals at the NC School of the Arts.
After graduating, Miss Katie went on to study at Appalachian State University, where she was a member of the Appalachian Dance Ensemble and performed in the North Carolina Dance Festival. She graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a minor in Dance Studies. While in college, Miss Katie also taught contemporary competition dance at Appalachian Dance Theatre.
After graduating from Appalachian State, Miss Katie returned to Charlotte where she taught all ages of both recreational and competition dance for four years before moving to Concord, where she began teaching in 2018 at Cabarrus Dance Academy.
In addition to dance, Miss Katie also has significant experience competing in and choreographing for pageants. She competed in the Miss America system where she held multiple local titles in North Carolina.
Miss Katie is certified in Acrobatics and Jazz by Dance Masters of America, and is also a certified Acrobatics instructor by Acrobatic Arts.
